Frances Hodgson Burnett Audiobooks

Frances Hodgson Burnett (born Frances Eliza Hodgson) was a novelist and playwright best known for her three children's novels “Little Lord Fauntleroy” (1885–1886), “A Little Princess” (1905), and “The Secret Garden” (1911). She was born in Manchester, England, in 1849. Following the death of her father and the collapse of the family business, 4-year-old Frances and her family emigrated to Tennessee to live with an uncle. By 1868, she had published her first story and began writing regularly for publications such as Harper's Bazaar and Godey's Lady's Book. This success allowed her the financial freedom to travel, spending extended periods in England, France, and other US cities. She died in Nassau County, New York, in 1924 at the age of 74.
